Role purpose
Are you ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced, international finance team? We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to take charge of our Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Bank Reconciliations across both the UK and US entities. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the action, ensuring our cash flow stays healthy, reducing credit risks, and maintaining impeccable financial records. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead efforts in process optimisation, improving both the efficiency and effectiveness of our work.

Role responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to):
Accounts Receivable & Credit Control (UK & US):
- Process and issue invoices accurately and on time.
- Record and reconcile incoming payments to customer accounts.
- Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve disputes with internal teams and customers.
- Issue credit notes and adjustments as needed.
- Assess customer creditworthiness and implement credit control measures to reduce bad debts.
Bank Reconciliations (UK & US):
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and internal accounts.
- Support the finance team with month-end close processes.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with UK VAT returns and U.S. sales tax filings.
- Contribute to process improvements in AR, credit control, and reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities and finance-related projects.
Success factors
You will make a great match for this role if you have:
- Previous experience (2+ years) in a finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, credit control principles, and bank reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills to manage customer relationships and resolve payment issues.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Desired skills and qualifications:
It would be an added bonus if you have:
- AAT (or Equivalent) Level 3+
- Experience of using a CRM tool, such as Salesforce
- Familiarity with UK VAT and U.S. sales tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as NetSuite
- Strong ability in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

Remuneration
£25k - £35k per annum.
Location
UK-based hybrid-working with weekly visits to our Southampton office.
