Senior Innovation Engineer
Are you excited by turning early ideas into working software? We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to help our Innovation unit build creative prototypes that can grow into real products and services.
We usually respond within a week
Introduction to Eficode
We’re building the future of software development - driving innovation across Cloud, DevOps, Agile, Service Management, and AI-powered transformation. Our mission is to help organizations evolve into truly software-driven enterprises, enabling them to deliver faster, smarter, and more sustainably. We believe in changing the world by sharing our expertise and enabling teams to work better through modern technology and intelligent automation.
As an Atlassian Platinum Partner, we have been recognized multiple times as Atlassian Partner of the Year, most recently for 2024–25. We are also proud to be a two-time GitHub Partner of the Year in EMEA and an Azure Managed Service Provider. With over 600 experts across 10 countries, we bring together leading talent from the Nordics, continental Europe, the UK, and the Americas.
Role purpose
In this role, you’ll be the technical driver in our innovation “lab” environment. You’ll take early-stage inputs - anything from high-level product vision to rough experimental code - and turn them into functional, well-structured systems that help us validate direction quickly.
This is a highly hands-on role: you will spend the majority of your time building, iterating, and refining working software.
Importantly, our prototypes are not meant to be disposable. Many of them mature into internal platforms, accelerators, or productized offerings - which means that some of them will require ongoing maintenance and improvements as they become used by others.
Role responsibilities
Your main responsibilities as our Senior Innovation Engineer will include (but won’t be limited to):
Build V0/V1 prototypes for new R&D initiatives, from concept to working implementation.
Turn ambiguous inputs (vision, sketches, experimental snippets) into a coherent architecture and codebase.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather context early, clarify constraints, and move forward without waiting for perfect specs.
Maintain a strong engineering baseline in prototypes: clean structure, pragmatic testing, and documentation so work can be continued.
Support prototypes as they mature: fix issues, refine performance and usability, and improve maintainability when a prototype starts getting real users.
Review innovation prototypes across the organization, mentoring teams to ensure solutions are grounded in sound engineering and business value
Role Requirements:
You will make a great match for this role if you have:
Have experience taking ideas from “early concept” to working prototypes/MVPs and iterating based on feedback.
Are comfortable making architecture and engineering decisions: selecting stacks, defining boundaries/interfaces, and setting a maintainable foundation.
Take ownership in ambiguous environments: you proactively align with stakeholders, ask the right questions, and drive work forward.
Care about quality even in R&D contexts (pragmatic tests, clean code, CI/CD basics, and documentation).
Are a team player: collaborative, supportive, and happy to share knowledge and help others succeed.
Swedish language skills (at least basic) and fluency in English is needed.
You must have full working rights in Sweden.
Nice to have’s:
It would be an added bonus if you have:
Experience in R&D / innovation labs, internal product incubation, or consultancy-style delivery with shifting requirements.
Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers, and modern runtime patterns (Docker/Kubernetes/serverless).
Experience applying AI/LLM-enabled development in a pragmatic way to accelerate prototyping.
Mentoring/technical leadership experience in code reviews and raising engineering quality across teams
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
What’s in it for you?
Be part of a leading DevOps and Atlassian consulting company with over 600 experts across 10 countries
Work with exciting customers across industries and tackle complex system implementation projects
